Withdrawal Management Program (Detox)
Meridian’s Withdrawal Management Program is a 16 bed detoxification center that allows individuals to detox from any drugs or alcohol under the care of medical and mental health professionals. Individuals receive 24-hour medical care and usually stay between 3 to 7 days.
Program and Services
Patients will be medically monitored by 24-hour experienced nursing staff to manage withdrawal symptoms.
Patients that are on Medication Assisted Treatment
If a patient is on MAT, and needs withdrawal management from benzodiazepines or alcohol, we will continue their medication while they are in our Detox program.
How long does Withdrawal Management (Detox) take?
The Withdrawal Management process usually takes anywhere from 3 to 7 days depending on symptoms. Meridian staff will continuously assess vital signs and symptoms of withdrawal. Also, staff will do a complete bio-psychosocial assessment to determine the next step in treatment once a patient has completed Detox. While a patient is in Detox, they will attend groups and meet with a counselor daily.
How do I know if I need withdrawal management?
Meridian’s Assessment staff can do an evaluation to determine if a patient needs Detox or not. Meridian offers walk-in assessments and scheduled appointments. Walk-ins are offered Monday-Thursday 8:00am-2:00pm and Fridays 8:00am-12:00pm at Meridian’s Main Office (527 N Meridian Road, Youngstown, OH 44509)
What happens after withdrawal management??
After a patient has completed Withdrawal Management/Detox, depending on the patient’s need, they can continue with services at Meridian. Services can include residential treatment, MAT, Intensive outpatient, etc. The counselor will meet with each patient, and together they will determine a treatment recommendation.
